President’s Note
By Brett Sutton
Wow! First off Merry Christmas and second THANKS to all the members who made
this year a huge success for your chapter! By the efforts of our chapter
we raised about $70,000 for the charities of the PVGP. As we look forward
to 2010, we are again pursuing regional status for the PVGP. We saw a
lot of old friends, and made a lot of new friends over the course of
the various events of 2009.I need to thank a few people for the efforts
put forth. These folks have
stepped up to the plate and put our chapter on the map nation wide.
Through thick and thin Eric Zagrocki was the man with the contacts who made
the PVGP happen. THANK YOU! Jeff Taylor made the BMW Club Racing happen.
The efforts that Jeff put towards this year were awesome. What it took cannot
be printed on this page. THANK YOU! We have a new newsletter editor. Her
name is Melissa Clay. I want to give a huge THANK YOU to your VP Kevin Murphy.
He was your editor for years. Enjoy your
VP position. The editor has a huge task of getting content and articles
compiled and the newsletter out on time. It is tedious and thankless. Please
wish Melissa well and send her an article for an upcoming newsletter. Finally
I want to say THANK YOU to Bill Permar who will be serving as the Chairman
for the 2010 PVGP events. This is a big responsibility to take on, but one
that I know Bill will handle with the support and help of our club.
Your chapter is on
a roll. We are relatively small in relationship to other chapters across the
nation. We have just over 600 members but the activity is growing. Let’s
grow together next year. Thanks to all of the new members that have been showing
up at the monthly meetings. They are becoming very enjoyable. It’s great
to see new faces and new ideas. The momentum that this chapter has is great.
Let’s not let it fade.
Let’s see if the efforts of being Marque at the PVGP in ’ 09
can carry over into the next decade and bring in the quality and/or quantity
of incredible cars and people that we had participate this past year.
I hope to see you all at Tom and B.J.’s for our annual Christmas party
in January. As always I’m waiting for spring to get the Alpinas
out for a spirited drive. (Yes, the Alpina population at the Sutton garage
doubled this fall – the newest dependent
arrived as a result of O’fest!...and even made it into the December
Roundel on page 62. I suppose there are worse addictions to have.)
Frohliche Weihnachten,
Brett and Dee

We are continuing to grow as a chapter!
We want to welcome our 20 new members who have joined this fall.It looks
like we have a mix of new and classic vehicles that have been added to our
car club family. In additionto these new members we have
had roughly 75 members renew their

A special congratulation to our T-Shirt winners. In September we began a
new feature – one that we hope will become a tradition for a long time.
Each month – a chapter T-Shirt
will be given away to one new member. A random drawing is done each month
from the members who joined. A T-Shirt will be mailed to the winner – after
we receive notice regarding the size and mailing address they want the shirt
sent to. We notify the winner via a separate email as well as will post the
winners on the web site and in the newsletter.
Congratulations to the following winners:
September: Richard Garrison
October: Chris Kelly
November: Leonard Berger
December: Alvan Osbourne
